A four-part invitation devised by Broodthaers (1924-76) for a six-month presentation at Nigel Greenwood’s London gallery. “Ceci Cela ou Rien” is printed on the front of all four cards. Except for the first, the remaining three have been rubber-stamped with the month they represent with red, yellow, and violet ink, respectively. The show apparently took place from July 1975 to January 1976, however, the CHELSEA space catalogue only lists an exhibition beginning 1 October 1975.

A very rare Yves Klein (1928-62) card bearing a sample of famous blue monochrome paint used for Gelsenkirchen’s Opera Theater, which was designed by architect Werner Ruhnau (1922-2015). Klein and Ruhnau had met at Iris Clert’s Norbert Kricke exhibition in 1957, and the architect soon after proposed that Klein create large reliefs in the future theater’s foyer. A suggestive postcard sent by Lozano (1930-99) from the Netherlands to Licht’s Rochester address in the 1970s. Ira Licht (1938-2023) taught art history at the University of Rochester then was named curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, where he curated the controversial Bodyworks show in 1975. He spent over a decade as the director of the Lowe Museum at the University of Miami. Lozano mentions speaking with Gemeentemuseum (The Hague) director Enno Develing and tells Licht to “enjoy I.
