Seis en Marcha: Muestra de Xilografias (opens 28 June 1986).
Six wood-engraved illus. (all signed by the artists) printed in red. One folded card with [3] pp. of text & six sheets with illus. to recto & text to verso, housed in orig. thick-paper pictorial portfolio (252 x 140 mm.). La Plata: Asociación Judicial Bonaerense, 1986.
The very rare catalogue for an exhibition of Latin-American wood engravings in La Plata, with engravings — all signed — contributed by the six artists, including Guillermo Deisler (1940-95) and Edgardo Antonio Vigo (1928-97). Seis en Marcha, as printed on the folder, was a collective of illustrators preserving wood engraving techniques in Argentina. WorldCat locates a single example.
The six artists selected for the show are: Hilda Paz (1950-2025), Vigo, Deisler, Sixto Gonzalez (n.d.), Hipólito Vieytes (1934-2013), and Ludovico Perez (1929-2022). Each of the artists is represented with one sheet bearing their wood engraving on the recto and a biography on the verso.
A handsome record of Argentine and Chilean wood engraving in the 1980’s, in excellent condition.
