Ōmi province: n.d.
A nicely kept printing woodblock, ideal for a teaching collection on the global history of printing. Hikifuda 引札 were handbills, flyers, or inserted advertisements for stores and products. Our woodblock advertises a medicine fabricated by the Fujioka pharmacy that was intended for children suffering from seizures, palpitations, measles, and overall poor health. The pharmacy was based in today’s Shiga prefecture. The woodblock text consists of a lengthy description of the medicine, Kannō gan, and its ingredients and uses. In fine condition.
