Exposition Francis Picabia (20-25 February 1928).

One color illus. & two full-page black & white illus. [13] pp. & [1] p. colophon. Small 4to, printed softcover (a trifle foxed), leaves uncut & loose as issued. Cannes: Chez Fabre, 1928.

A very rare Picabia (1879-1953) exhibition catalogue; WorldCat locates only two examples in North American libraries (as of July 2025). The artist showed with Fabre the previous year, and a signed portfolio was produced for that occasion.

This exhibition catalogue has an introduction by gallerist Emile Fabre (“Picabia 1928”) and an essay by Emeran Clemansin du Maine (“Prolegomenes”), followed by a check-list of the 41 works displayed. Three works by Picabia are reproduced, the first “Chiromis” is in color and is pasted in, but curiously encircled by a skeumorphic platemark.

Near fine.
