steps (18 March-18 April 1971).
1971. [70] pp. Oblong 8vo (135 x 206 mm.), printed softcover (spine a trifle worn). Amsterdam: Stedelijk Museum, 1971.
A scarce Stanley Brouwn (1935-2017) exhibition catalogue/artist’s book, edition of 2200 copies. In contrast to Brouwn’s cryptic books/catalogues containing measurements, this is one of his more revealing publications. It apparently records the number of steps taken in the course of his travels for the duration of the exhibition (18 March-18 April), in order: Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, Morocco, Algeria, Morocco, Spain, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands. An asterisk next to the country indicates that he set foot there for the first time. Near fine.
