Scarce invitation from the Surrealist gallery A L’Etoile Scellée for a presentation of works by Croatian artist Slavko Kopac (1913-95), the artist’s first solo show in Paris. He presented a mix of paintings, sculptures, and some ceramics — 23 pieces are listed on the invitation. The Croatian artist is introduced in a short essay by Benjamin Péret, who commends Kopac’s “authenticity” and ability to paint on ceramics. A fine copy.
