An annotated copy of this scarce auction catalogue, with contemporary ms. recording all prices in the margins. The introduction, by dealer Hypolite Delaroche (a. 1795-1821), traces the Godefroy family’s history of collecting and mentions a number of highlights from the collection. 222 pieces from the cabinet of Godefroy (1728-1813) are listed herein.
A fine copy, with useful annotations. Engraved bookplate of Georges Pannier (1853-1944) to front paste-down and stamp of the Bibliothèque Heim to verso of title. We find just one example of this catalogue in North America.
