Scarce postcard invitation made for Richter’s third solo presentation at Konrad Fischer. This was the first time the artist’s surreal portraits of Gilbert & George were shown. Richter based them on photographs of the duo, from which he executed eight paintings. Gilbert & George had asked Richter to paint them during their March 1974 exhibition with Fischer. The recto illustration depicts the painting Gilbert & George (1975) [cat. raisonné no. 383].
