Color illus. throughout. Square 4to, semi-stiff pictorial wrappers. leaves, printed on rectos only. [From verso of final leaf]: Paris: M19, 2009.
Rare artist’s book by Jonathan Monk, published to accompany his 2009 shows The Inflated Deflated and The Deflated Inflated at Casey Kaplan and Lisson Gallery in London, respectively. There was also an exhibition of related shirts and posters at Specific Object.
The book begins with a large pink circle obscuring a picture that is slowly revealed as the circle shrinks and gradually turns red, functioning as a flip-book. This reveals a picture of Monk sitting with one of his Deflated Sculptures and a tiny red dot remaining over his nose à la Baldessari. This publication was part of M19's Inventaire Supplémentaire series.
Near fine copy; minor scuffing to the wrappers. Unknown edition size. WorldCat locates just one copy in North America.
