The rare auction catalogue offering the collection of Suvée (1743-1807), the Belgian-born painter. In 1801 he became director of the Académie de France in Rome. This catalogue has 179 lots of paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures, painter’s tools, frames, etc. 43 lots of paintings and 17 lots of drawings are by Suvée.
Nice copy; some foxing to a few leaves. With the bookplate of G[eorges] P[annier] (1853-1944), the Parisian art dealer and collector of early art auction catalogues, and stamp of the Bibliothèque Heim on verso of title.
