The first volume contains essays from prominent bibliophiles such as Charles Ryskamp, Gabriel Austin, Shigeo Sorimachi, John F. Fleming, Robert F. Metzdorf, and others. There is also a bibliography of the Four Oaks library compiled by Herbert Cahoon, curator of manuscripts at the Morgan Library.
