First edition of this rare work on the chemistry of dyes by the co-discoverer of aniline dyes in coal-tar. Runge (1795-1867), was associate professor in Breslau and later in the Prussian Marine service in Berlin and Oranienburg.

Nice set with all 247 mounted color samples. Old library stamps on each title.
